Jerimiah 29:11 is an amazing verse! It's so comforting to know that we are taken care of by God himself! He is in control not us! How comforting and relaxing!

Back in the Saddle.... Friends?

So it's been awhile since I've posted anything and I could kick myself for that. But now I am going to try and keep up on this. So what I have to talk about today is friends. God has been laying on my heart the importance of staying in the Word and knowing it, being "prepared in season and out of season"(2 Timothy 4:2). I have come to realize the big importance of "watering" myself in the word so to speak. This is what lead me to find some amazing truths that God wants us to know and believe. So truth for today is, God is faithful when we are not- 2 Timothy 2:13.
If a friend leaves you out to dry, just completely abandons you and you are left feeling alone in the world, what is it our tendency to do? Do unto him as he did unto us, right? Right. Well, it's just the opposite with Christ. You maybe thinking, "Well Christ isn't really my friend", or, "It's not the same". Well it is the same, and Christ is our friend, it says so in John 15:14, "You are my friends, if you do what I command." So remember that as I come to my next point.
When we, Christ's friends, leave him, forget him, and completely try to take him out of our lives. What is His tendency to do? Remain faithful. 2 Timothy 2:13a, "If we are faithless, he will remain faithful.." So why can't we do that with our friends when they are faithless to us? Christ tells us to be like him, so we are supposed to be faithful to those, even when they are faithless to us. In other words, we are to love even we are hated.
I am not saying this is easy. That there is magic words that make it possible for us to do this. I am not saying we can do this on our own. We Can't. We can't do anything without Christ, and he will help us if we ask him. If we are striving to be more like him, and realize that we can't do it on our own, he will help us. (Philp. 4:13).
So, to sum everything up. If a friend abandons us, we are still to remain faithful to them. This doesn't mean that you still have to try and make them be friends with you again, if you have already talked everything out and they still aren't responding, then leave it in God's hands. It means that you don't go bad mouthing them, making fun of them, or trying to hurt them in any shape or form. It means showing the love and forgiveness of Christ. Yes, you may feel they don't deserve it, but hey, neither did we. We, as believers, are sinners saved by grace. We are the most undeserving of them all, yet God loved us despite all of our flaws. How amazing is his love. To quote Kyle from Beastly," Can you imagine that love?". So lets go out today and love as Christ loves.
