"Do You Trust Me?"

So I haven't been on here forever, but with school starting and show choir practice I have been way busy. A lot things have been happening. Good and bad. Lately though it feels like more bad then good. Through it all though God has been right there with me. Last Wednesday I stayed home from church and went on a run. It started out as a regular run, but ended in so much more. I had my ipod in blaring, of course, to the song by Tenth Ave. North called Beloved. (Which I've mentioned in a past blog.) Before long I was crying, the lyrics spoke to me so much. Something God has been trying to teach me is to put my trust in Him and not in others or other things. I kept hearing Him ask me, "Do you trust me?" "Do you trust me?" I would run up a hill and feeling like I couldn't make it. He asked me, "Do you trust me to get you up this hill?" Not just a physical hill but different trials in my life. Once up the hill there would a just  a straight stretch of road and I was able to breathe again. He asked, "Do you trust me? Even though everything seems fine right now?" I, we, need to trust him at all times no matter what. I kept running, through another straight, boring stretch of road. It was getting dark and lighting bugs began lighting up. Little lights flickering here and there. Like little glimpses of happiness. Just like when God lets us see the good things that he wants us to want. Godly boyfriends\girlfriends, Godly friends, ect. These things might not last long, a day, a week , a year, even 27 years. We praise him for each minute, each second that He gives us of these precious moments. I ran down a hill, "Do you trust me?" Two deer past me, like friends that flit through our lives, and then either leave reluctantly or leave running because they don't like that we act different because of our own convictions. Or the friends that we have to leave because though we love them, they aren't good for us. At these times we don't look back on them sadly, wishing them back. We move on and look for what God wants us to have, not what we want. Finally, I looked back to see the North Star behind me. Always shining, always in the same spot, even if we don't always see it. Much like God, always ahead of us to guide us in the "night", and He is always watching over us; even if we don't feel like it.  He's always got our backs. So... "Do you trust Him?"
